Terms of Service
These are the terms for using Max. They are short on purpose. By adding Max to a chat, or by texting YES when he asks, you agree to them.
1. The service
Max is a text-message helper for group chats, made and run by Coherent Systems Group, Inc. ("we"). He keeps a record of a chat he has been added to and answers questions about it from that record. He does not do anything else, and he never pretends to be a person.
2. Text-messaging terms
- Consent. Max reads and replies only in chats he has been added to, and only reads the messages of people who have texted YES. No answer means NO.
- Message frequency varies with the chat. Max replies when he is asked something, and occasionally to confirm he has recorded something. He does not send marketing messages.
- Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan.
- Opt out: text STOP in the chat at any time and Max will stop reading and replying to your messages. Text NO for the same result.
- Help: text HELP in the chat, or email max@coherentsystemsgroup.com.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Your mobile information is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
3. The chat's owner
The person who adds Max to a chat is its owner. The owner is responsible for having the right to add the other people, for telling us which participants are under 18 so a guardian can answer for them, and for telling Max when the chat is finished. The owner receives the full record at the end.
4. What you agree not to do
- Use Max for anything unlawful, or to harass anyone.
- Paste in credit card numbers, bank details, Social Security numbers, health records, or material marked confidential. Max refuses these, and you agree not to send them.
- Try to get Max to reveal one chat's record inside another chat, or to speak as a person.
5. The pilot
Max is in a pilot. He is provided as he is, and we may change how he works, pause him, or end the pilot. We will tell you in the chat when something changes that matters. We do our best to make sure Max never forgets and never lies; if you ever catch him doing either, tell us and we will fix it and say so.
6. Your data
What Max collects and what we do with it is in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
7. Limits
Max is a record-keeper, not a professional adviser. Decisions you make from what he tells you are yours. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for anything arising from Max is limited to the amount you paid us for Max in the twelve months before the claim ~ which, during the pilot, is nothing.
8. Ending it
You can stop at any time by texting STOP. The owner can end a chat at any time by telling Max it is finished. We can remove Max from a chat if these terms are broken.
9. The law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Mohave County, Arizona.
